✦ Our Promise ✦
Ethical Certification & Sourcing
Every piece we sell is handcrafted with integrity — ethically sourced, fairly traded, and made with deep respect for people and planet.
Our Commitment to Ethical Himalayan Cashmere
At New Himalayan Pashmina House, ethical sourcing is not a marketing claim — it is the foundation of everything we do. Our authentic Himalayan cashmere certification begins in the highlands of Nepal, where our artisan partners have been hand-weaving cashmere and pashmina for generations. We work directly with these artisans, eliminating middlemen and ensuring that the people who create our products are fairly compensated for their extraordinary skill and craftsmanship.
Furthermore, we are committed to complete transparency in our supply chain. From the raw fibre that is gently hand-combed from Himalayan mountain goats to the finished shawl that arrives at your door in Canada or the USA, every step of our process is guided by ethical principles. Consequently, when you purchase from us, you can be confident that your cashmere has been produced with fairness, care, and respect.
🏅 Our Ethical Standards & Certifications
🤝
Fair Trade Artisan Partnerships
We work directly with artisan cooperatives in Nepal, paying fair wages that are significantly above local market rates. Additionally, 5% of all profits are reinvested into artisan community welfare programmes.
🐐
Cruelty-Free Fibre Sourcing
Our cashmere fibre is obtained through gentle, cruelty-free hand-combing of Himalayan mountain goats during their natural moulting season. No animals are harmed in the production of our cashmere — this is an absolute standard we uphold.
🌿
No Harmful Chemicals
Our cashmere is processed and dyed using OEKO-TEX® compliant methods — free from harmful substances and safe for your skin. Every product is gentle on the body and kind to the environment.
🏺
Heritage Craft Preservation
By sourcing directly from Nepal’s master weavers, we actively contribute to the preservation of traditional Himalayan textile crafts. Each purchase helps sustain an ancient art form and ensures future generations of artisans can continue this heritage.
🌍 Environmental Responsibility
Cashmere is a natural, biodegradable fibre. Moreover, our small-batch production model means we never overproduce — reducing waste significantly compared to mass-market alternatives. We use minimal, recyclable packaging and are actively working towards carbon-neutral shipping options for our Canadian and US customers.
We are proud members of the global movement towards sustainable cashmere production. In addition, we continuously review and improve our environmental practices to ensure that our love for beautiful cashmere does not come at the cost of our planet.
📜 Authenticity Guarantee
Every product sold by New Himalayan Pashmina House is guaranteed to be 100% authentic Himalayan cashmere or pashmina. We stand behind this promise completely — if you ever have concerns about the authenticity of your purchase, please contact us and we will provide full documentation of origin and production. Your trust means everything to us.
